About Me
Private Tour Guide
Hello! I’m Monika, though most call me Zuma. Welcome to Explore with Zuma, where I share my love for the outdoors through hikes, scenic walks, and meaningful experiences in the Illawarra and Southern Highlands.
I was born in Slovakia, surrounded by mountains, forests, and rivers. From my earliest memories, I felt a deep connection to nature—wandering trails, watching wildlife, and letting the rhythm of the earth guide me. These moments sparked a lifelong passion for walking, hiking, and discovering the world around me.
At 25, I moved to England, settling in Aylesbury. There, I embraced new adventures, exploring the Lake District, Peak District, and the wild beauty of Wales. Eventually, my love for untamed landscapes drew me closer to Snowdonia, where I could immerse myself fully in nature’s grandeur.
In 2016, I took to the skies, earning my paragliding license and traveling across Europe. I explored Norway and Iceland, and flew in Italy, France, Slovenia, Switzerland, and Macedonia. Each journey deepened my love for the natural world and fueled my desire to share its magic with others.
In 2017, I made Australia my home. I spent two years traveling—from Adelaide to the small town of Manilla in NSW, to Darwin—before settling in the Illawarra region, a place I now call home. Here, I started my family and continued exploring the breathtaking South Coast and Southern Highlands, finding beauty in every trail, hill, and hidden lookout.
Explore with Zuma is my invitation to you: to step outside, breathe deeply, and connect with nature. Whether it’s a gentle walk, a hike, or a guided sightseeing adventure, I hope to inspire you to experience the wonder of the world around us.
Let’s explore together
