Pick-up between 8:30 and 9:00am from your hotel, motel, or train station, anywhere between Thirroul and Wollongong.

We wind up the escarpment into the cool, green Southern Highlands, beginning at Hindmarsh Lookout, where sweeping views stretch across the cliffs and forests of Kangaroo Valley. A short stroll then brings us to Belmore Falls, admired from viewing platforms perched high above the valley.

Next, we visit Fitzroy Falls in Morton National Park — one of the Highlands’ most iconic sights — where the falls cascade 80 metres into a majestic sandstone gorge, surrounded by wild escarpment and endless valley views. No matter how many times I come here, it still takes my breath away.

Lunch is in the charming village of Robertson, the “Green Heart” of the Highlands. Surrounded by rolling dairy country and rich red soil, and home of the famous Big Potato.

We finish at the spectacular Carrington Falls in Budderoo National Park, where the river thunders through a dramatic gorge — a memorable finale before a relaxed journey back down the mountain.
